How To Clean My Real Techniques Brushes
Hey Internet Friends,
As you'll know if you saw my last post I was ridiculously excited to try out my new Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette. As an avid fan of the Pixiwoo sisters Sam & Nic and the products they create with Real Techniques so my expectations were incredibly high for this brush cleansing palette.
Real Techniques make some bold claims about the brush cleansing palette on the website stating that:
"Cleans brushes 55% better.
Great makeup application starts with a clean brush. The brush cleansing palette helps sweep away makeup, oil, and impurities from bristles to give you truer, more consistent color application.
performance-grade silicone: lightweight and ergonomically designed to fit comfortably over your hand
exclusive multi-textured surfaces: designed to gently work between the bristles for enhanced deep cleansing"
What Did I Think?
The first thing I will say is the mixed textured surface works incredibly well for your different brush needs, the smaller bumps work perfectly for getting rid of tough eyeshadows and liner from smaller brushes, the middle raised texture is amazing for stubborn matte foundations and the larger rounded bumps clean powder brushes in seconds!
This actually made my brush cleaning experience pleasurable, as someone who religiously cleans my brushes every single week this can be a difficult thing to enjoy but with this it took me about 15 minutes to clean 22 brushes!
Now thats impressive!
The pliable silicone material makes it comfortable to hold and it doesn't slip off your hand at all, it also doesn't have that horrendous plastic smell you'd expect. When you combine this with the Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Gel it really did make my brushes feel good as new!
How do you use it?
Its the easiest process you could imagine and I bet it isn't that different to what you already do.
Add a drop of brush cleansing gel onto the palette then some warm water.
Mix the tip of the brush into the gel and water into the palette surface until the brush is fully clean then rinse your brush under warm water.
Gently squeeze an excess water and leave your brush to dry overnight.
Simples!
Don't take my word for it that its so easy to use, watch Nic from pixiwoo demonstrate it in the video below.
There you have it!
I am so glad I added this product to my Real Techniques collection, now I've actually got a reason to be excited to clean my brushes.
Hope you guys enjoyed finding out a bit more about this product,
Have you guys tried the RT brush cleansing palette?
